Biographical/Historical note
Biographical/Historical note
Mr. Bukowski was born in Wallingford, Conn., April 11, 1922, the youngest of nine children. He began to play the trombone at age 14 after hearing Tommy Dorsey at a local ballroom. A fan of jazz bands, he began forming this collection while in grammar school, sending postcards to bands requesting pictures; later he saw many bands in person.
