This accession consists of records that document an assessment of the organizational design of the Smithsonian Institution, recommendations on how it should be aligned and structured to achieve its strategic priorities, and recommendations on how to improve business processes to be more efficient and improve productivity. The assessment was conducted to support a Smithsonian-wide strategic plan. These records were maintained by Pherabe Kolb, Senior Executive Officer, Office of the Undersecretary for Finance and Administration, who was tasked to the Office of the Secretary to oversee the assessment conducted by McKinsey and Company. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, proposals, reports, and other related records.
