This record unit consists mostly of record books maintained by the Department of Biology. They include a register of employees of the department, circa 1910-1940; a visitor's book, 1943-1944; a record of manuscripts submitted to the Head Curator of Biology for publication by the United States National Museum (USNM), 1931-1943; a record of requisitions, 1901-1916; and a record of specimens distributed, 1931-1943. Also included are lists, notes, and copies of correspondence concerning USNM marine invertebrate collections in the custody of Addison Emery Verrill of Yale University, circa 1894-1907.
