This collection covers the period that Ratia was with Marimekko, 1951-1979.It includes scrapbook, press releases, correspondence, brochures, photographs, magazine articles, swatches, and trade catalogs. It contains extensive information about the company's affiliation with D/R and its operations in Finland. It includes a copy of "Phenomenon Marimekko," the catalog from a comprehensive exhibition that was held at the Museum of Applied Arts in Helsinki in 1986. The collection contains legal correspondence and contracts pertaining to D/R's representation of Marimekko in the United States, as well as numerous swatches, sample books, brochures for stockholders, and trade catalogs. Files pertaining to Marimekko's work in Finland is mostly in Finnish and consists of brochures, posters, articles, and sample books, as well as a copy of the publication, "Design in Finland 1983."Additional information on Marimekko's association with D/R can be found in the Cooper-Hewitt Design Archive's Design Research, Inc. This collection contains4,300 black and white photographs that document architecture and design in Paris from 1925-1937.These silver-gelatin prints, mostly 8 x 10, depicting French industrial art objects, interior settings, and window displays were amassed by Bonney who lived most of her life in Paris. Many of the photographs were done by Bonney. She collected others from news agencies, photographers, and stock photograph vendors. Many of the photographs are accompanied by captions composed in a conversational manner by Bonney.

The collection consists chiefly of hand-written notes made by Southgate on a wide range of postal history topics and related matters, generally on lined or graph paper measuring 25 x 15 cm. or smaller, for keeping in triple-post binders. Some of the notes were made in "Lefax" or other commercially-available notebooks. The collection includes numerous mounted newsclippings, brochures, and excerpted articles from philatelic journals, as well as statistical data, advertisements, copies of correspondence, and diagrams made by Southgate to illustrate plate variations, etc.

Materials collected by Robert P. Alexander, acquired by him chiefly between 1975 and 1985. The collection includes photocopied, reprinted, or excerpted articles from periodicals and chapters from books, abstracts, copies of typed manuscripts, and some non-book format materials (e.g. sound recordings, slides, etc.). The source of each item is generally typed or handwritten on the piece, although the source is not recorded in every case. Some soft-bound longer monographic works are also included in the collection. The collection includes materials issued from the late 18th century (i.e., in modern editions or photocopies) through the first half of the 1980s, with the bulk of the collection dating from the late 19th century onwards.

A scrapbook of miscellaneous illustrations of European military uniforms, historical costumes, and some ecclesiastical architecture, featuring both engravings and original artwork (ink sketches and watercolor paintings).The uniforms, with examples from the Prussian, Hanoverian, Austrian, and other armies, date mostly from the first half of the 19th century. The historical costumes are chiefly from the early modern period, and are mostly Italian.
