The microfilmed Józef and Teresa Bakós papers include biographical information; correspondence; writings by Teresa and Józef; exhibition announcements and catalogs; and clippings. Also included are photographs of Józef and Teresa, their family and friends, and works of art; as well as printed material.

Józef Bakós (1891-1977) was a painter in Sante Fe, New Mexico. He is best known for his Western landscapes. Bakós was a founding member of the Modernist art group Los Cinco Pintores (the five painters) with Walter Mruk, Fremont Ellis, Willard Nash, and Will Shuster. He married Teresa Bakós in 1927. Teresa Bakós (1884-1974) was an Italian-born painter in Santa Fe.
