Included in these files are biographical data; correspondence; a list of Bennington art majors from 1936 to 1956; a list of art faculty from 1942 to 1969; loan agreements; price lists; checklists; entry forms; press releases; exhibition catalogs and announcements; printed material; and photographs.

Bennington College (founded 1932) is a private liberal arts college in Bennington, Vermont. Founded as a women's college in 1932, it became co-educational in 1969. Bennington claims to be the first college in the country to put the visual and performing arts at the center of a liberal arts education.
