Biographical / Historical
German-born Los Angeles painter and educator Bettina Brendel studied at Kunstschule Schmilimsky, Hamburg, and Landeshochschule Für Bildende Künste, Hamburg with Erich Hartmann in the 1940s before coming to the United States in 1951. She continued her studies at the University of Southern California from 1955-1958, and taught at the University of California, Los Angeles, from 1958-1961.
Brendel's work can be found in the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Art, Pasadena Art Museum, and Long Beach Museum of Art amongst others.
