"Ladies" album containing: poetry and sentiments from friends and relatives as well as several engravings, a sketch, two calling cards, and a lock of hair. Among the family members who signed are: G[eorge] A[ddison] Throop, Eliza Throop, and James A. Throop. Most of the entries indicate that they were written in Preston (Chenango Co.), N.Y. or in the surrounding towns.

35mm microfilm reel 2803 available at Archives of American Art offices and through interlibrary loan.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
This album passed down through the Throop family to Mrs. Olive Cole Smith, granddaughter of the painter Deborah Goldsmith Throop (Mrs. George Addison Throop). Jean Lipman subsequently acquired it in the course of doing research on Goldsmith Throop and gave it to the Archives of American Art.
