Jeannette Eckman (1882-1972) was the a self-taught historian and author in Wilmington, Delaware. She served as a director for the Work Projects Administration and oversaw art, music, theater, and writing projects for the Delaware Federal Arts Project.

The collection is available on 35mm microfilm reel NDA 15 at Archives of American Art offices. Researchers should note that the arrangement of the material described in the container inventory does not reflect the arrangement of the collection on microfilm.

The papers were microfilmed after receipt on Reel NDA 15. The collection was processed, and a finding aid prepared by Jayna Josefson in 2023 with support from the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative.
