An interview of Ted Egri conducted 1965 March 22, by Sylvia Loomis, for the Archives of American Art. Egri speaks of his youth; his education at the Roerich Museum Art Institute; parental influence; teaching at the Art Institute in Kansas City; working for the Federal Art Project on a poster project in 1936; the easel painting project, and the mural project; his post-FAP career; joining the U.S. Navy and making maps during World War II; the effect of the WPA years on his career; developing his work as a sculptor; going back to teaching for a while; and joining the Artists Equity Association.
