Biographical material, correspondence, writings, subject files, photographs, artwork, and printed material documenting the career of painter Adolf Fleischmann.
Scope and Contents
Biographical material includes a birth certificate, diplomas, educational transcripts, membership cards, death announcements, obituaries, and an address book. Correspondence is personal and professional and includes letters from dealers, curators, artists and art historians. Additional letters are to Elly Fleischmann, Fleischmann's wife, from colleagues concerning Adolf Fleischmann.
Scope and Contents
Writings by Fleischmann and others, both published and unpublished, are about art and include poetry and an illustrated painting diary by Fleischmann. Subject files contain photographs, writings, inventories, and correspondence pertaining to the Adolf Fleischmann catalogue raisonne published by G. Hatje Verlag. Photographs consist of slides and black and white photographs of works of art, Fleischmann, his family, colleagues, and exhibition installations. Artwork includes loose sketches. Printed material consists of exhibition announcements, catalogs, and press releases.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Small amount of printed material donated in 1978 by Elly Fleischmann, Fleischmann's widow. The remainder was donated in 2011 and 2014 by Peter Aldin, Adolf Fleischmann's step-son.
