UNMICROFILMED: Biographical documents and writings; correspondence with family, friends, Preston Dickinson, Paul Dennis O'Connor, galleries, museums and Jessica Millmans' correspondence concerning Gasparo; sketches and sketchbooks; clippings, articles, exhibition guest books, catalogs and announcements; photographs of Gasparo, Millman, Dickinson, and slides and negatives of artwork; financial records; notes; 3 reels 16 mm film, including two film prints of "A Night In the Artist's Studio: Gasparo with model Magdelene Egry" (copied to VHS), and an untitled reel of footage of Gasparo and models; 2 palettes; and a printing block.

Painter; New York, N.Y. Born in Bari, Italy. He came to the United States in 1916. Studied at the National Academy of Design, N.Y.C. and with Preston Dickinson. Served as a WPA artist in New York City.

35mm microfilm reels N70-25, 132 and 960 available for use at Archives of American Art offices and through interlibrary loan.
Existence and Location of Originals
Reel 960: Originals returned to the lender, Jessica Millman, after microfilming.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Material on reel 960 was lent for microfilming by Jessica Millman, a friend of Gasparo's, 1975. The other material was donated by Millman, 1970-1984. The 16mm film was transferred to VHS video Nov. 1991 and is catalogued separately and shelved under Gropius.
