Awards and certificates, 1970-1975; a childhood drawing by Groshans with a note to his father, 1926; correspondence of the Groshans with dealers, museums, and art historians regarding Groshans paintings, their sale, exhibition, and disposition; a letter from Yetta to her parents recounting a meeting with Mrs. Rockwell Kent, 1969; Writings relate to Groshan's efforts to hire an African American instructor at the Art Students League. Printed material consists of exhibition catalogs, clippings and articles on Groshans, some with reproductions of his paintings, and obituaries. Photographs are of Groshans, works of art by him, exhibition installations and receptions, 1960s-1990; and seventy-five 35mm slides of Groshans works of art. Also included are two audio cassettes of Alice Neel interviews, 1979 and undated; and 3 videotapes of Groshans exhibitions, 1980 and 1987.

Painter; New Jersey and New York; b. 1914; d. 1986. Born in Eutingen-Pforzheim, Germany, and came to U.S. in 1927. Studied with Bernard Gussow. Participated in WPA easel project. Member National Academy of Design.
