14 sketchbooks by Hatch; one notebook, containing clippings and a list of artists who lent their works of art for an exhibition, held in October 1952 at the Warner Library, Tarrytown, New York, to honor the United Nations; and 2 exhibition catalogs.

Hatch was a painter, lecturer, teacher and printer. She was director of the Tarrytown (N.Y.) Art Center in 1940. She moved from New York to the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The donor, Don Lewis, operated Auslew Gallery, Norfolk, VA, which showed Emily Hatch's work.
