Typescripts of a biographical sketch of Heuston's grandfather, George Zell Heuston, and a "Catalog of Eight Watercolors by George Zell Heuston," 1978; a typescript of a biographical sketch of Heuston's father, Franklin Zell Heuston; and typescripts of a biographical sketch of George Franklin Heuston, a few excerpts from his World War II diary, clippings of newspaper reviews of his 1943 exhibitions, and a 1943 exhibition announcement.

George Zell Heuston was born in Wisconsin in a log cabin. He was first employed as an aid to an itinerant portrait painter, and eventually started on his own as a lanscape painter. He went to Chicago to attend art school in 1866. He eventually set up a photography and portrait studio, while his wife gave music lessons. After his wife died, he went to Oregon and set up a studio there. He later worked with prints. His son, Franklin also became a painter, and went to New York to study. He was considered one of the last of the American Impressionists. He painted landscapes and small oils. He painted copies for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He exhibited in New York in the 1920's and 1930's. He continued painting until he died at age 86.

George Franklin Heuston studied painting at Columbia University, has exhibited at the Corcoran, the National Academy of Design.
