Correspondence, 1895-30, between Kahles and his former wife, lawyers, his daughter Jessie, and editors and admirers of his cartoons. Also, correspondence between Jessie Kahles concerning the continuation of Kahles' comic strips, HAIRBREADTH HARRY and BELINDA AND RUDOLPH. Other material includes Kahles' drawings, biographical sketches, photographs and will. Included in Kahles' correspondence is one letter each from Herbert Hoover, July 2, 1918, and Harry Houdini, November 20, 1920.
