Biographical / Historical
Faye Lansner (1912-2010) was a painter and tapissier in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New York City, New York. She studied at Temple University, Columbia University, Art Students League, and Hans Hofmann School from 1948 to 1950, and also studied in Paris with Fernand Leger. In addition to her artistic career, Lansner co-founded Women in the Arts (WIA), an organization that sought to change public and institutional attitudes toward women artists.
