Linda Lindeberg (1915-1973) was an abstract expressionist painter in New York City, New York. She studied at the Hoffman School in New York under Hans Hofmann and was married to fellow painter Giorgio Cavallon. Often, her work featured female nudes.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The collection was donated to the Archives of American Art in 1973 by Giorgio Cavallon.
Separated Materials
Material loaned for microfilming on reel N68-61 in 1968, including clippings, notes, exhibition catalogs, and photographs, were returned to Linda Lindeberg after microfilming and are not described in the collection container inventory.
Existence and Location of Copies
The collection is available on 35mm microfilm reel 940 at Archives of American Art offices and through interlibrary loan. Researchers should note that the arrangement of the material described in the container inventory does not reflect the arrangement of the collection on microfilm.
Processing Information
The papers received a preliminary level of arrangement and were microfilmed on reel 940 after receipt. The collection was processed, and a finding aid prepared by Jayna Josefson in 2022 with support from the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative.
