Biographical / Historical
Painter; born in North Carolina; attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Pratt Institute, and the William M. Chase School of Art. Originally began his careeer designing stained glass windows and ecclesiastical art, but developed quickly into a well recognized Modernist in the tradition of Cezanne. Did much of his painting in Europe, often concentrating on still lifes.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The donor, Marsden London, is the son of Frank London and a professional architect. He originally collected and organized the material upon request of the Woodstock Artists Association.
