A 13-page funeral address written by McDonald, to be read at his death; a diary, 1850-1858, containing an account of his trip from Illinois to California, financial accounts, and miscellaneous notes; and an undated notebook with notes, mathematical equations, and copies of McDonald's letters to T.M. Johnson, president of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Light, Lockport, Illinois.
