Newman speaks of his initial interest in art at Stanford University; meeting Walter Hopps and opening his first gallery with him in the 1950s; the history of the Dilexi Gallery in San Francisco; and his philosophy of collecting. He recalls Robert Craig Kauffman, William T. Wiley, and Jeremy Anderson.
