Correspondence, writings, photographs, works of art, printed material document Perlmutter's career as a painter, printmaker, and teacher.
Scope and Contents
Correspondence is with NASA officials concerning work commissioned for NASA. Also included are drafts of outgoing letters concerning Perlmutter's Fulbright fellowship in Japan. Writings include notes on Japanese printmaking, a diary pertaining to Perlmutter's fellowship, typescripts of lectures and other unpublished writings by Perlmutter as well as copies of his published articles on American art and printmaking. Photographs are of Perlmutter, Japanese printmakers Unichi Hiratsuka and Hideo Hagiwara and others, and works of art commissioned by NASA. Works of art include 5 felt-tip pen and pencil drawings and 7 prints. Printed material consists of newspaper clippings, exhibition announcements and reviews, and source material for prints and paintings.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
A small portion of this collection was donated in 1979 and 1981 by Jack Perlmutter and an additional 5 linear feet in 2008 by Gloria Cole, a friend of Perlmutter's.
