The microfilmed Caroline Ogden-Jones Peter papers relating to Paul W. Bartlett contain correspondence, lists, inventories, photographs and printed materials (1955-1965) regarding Caroline Peter's distribution of Paul Wayland Bartlett's sculpture and manuscripts to museums, galleries, universities, and other institutions across the United States.

Caroline Ogden-Jones Peter (1894-1965) was the daughter of Suzanne Bartlett (1861-1954) and her first husband Mahlon Ogden-Jones. Suzanne Bartlett later married sculptor Paul Wayland Bartlett (1865-1925). Caroline Peter inherited the work of Paul W. Bartlett upon her mother's death in 1954 and later distributed his work to various museums and institutions across the country.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Lent for microfilming 1994 by The Tudor Place Foundation, Inc. along with the Paul Wayland Bartlett Papers, and papers of Suzanne Bartlett and Armistead Peter, Jr. relating to Paul W. Bartlett (each group has been cataloged separately). The Tudor Place Foundation, Inc. inherited the papers in 1984 with the estate of Armistead Peter III, husband of Caroline Odgen-Jones, daughter of Suzanne Bartlett and stepdaughter of Paul W. Bartlett.

The Archives of American art does not own the original papers. Use is limited to the microfilm copy.
