Sculptor and teacher; Chicago, Ill. and Winter Park, Fla. Born in Czechoslovakia and came to America in 1901. Studied at the Pennsylvania Academy and won scholarship to study at the American Academy in Rome. Was appointed the Curator of Sculpture at the Chicago Art Institute. Retired to Florida in 1949.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The donor, Regina Soria, was a collector for AAA and headed its office in Rome where she studied the work of American artists in Italy.
