16 volumes of Board of Managers meetings, 1880-1959; 3 volumes of "house journals" (diaries), containing brief entries and sketches relating to art classes, exhibition openings, social events, and other business matters; and 9 scrapbooks containing clippings, exhibition catalogs and announcements, photographs, letters and memorabilia.
Scope and Contents
George Whitaker, a founder of the club and an active member on the Board of Managers, and Sydney Burleigh, an active member and elected officer, both figure prominently in the records, particularly in the minutes of the Board of Managers and in the scrapbooks, many of which contain announcements and catalogs of Whitaker's and Burleigh's exhibitions.
