Research material for an unpublished catalogue raissonné on William Lamb Picknell. Included is Picknell's chronology, biography, criticism, and exhibitions; a card file of works of art arranged in chronological order (titles in quotations are confirmed titles); photographs, slides, transparencies, reproductions, and photocopies of Picknell, his works of art, and photographic sources for paintings; photocopies of family papers and published writings about Picknell (many supplied by Merl M. Moore, Jr.); and miscellany. Also included is a catalogue William Lamb Picknell (1853-1897), Taggart & Jorgensen Gallery, Washington, D.C., November 7-December 7, 1991, including an essay by Rabb, "William Picknell's Family Life."

William Picknell: Painter; New York City. b.1853 d. 1897 Art historian Lauren Rabb began her research on William Lamb Picknell (1853-1897) while she was working at the Taggart & Jorgensen Gallery, in Washington, D.C., on the William Lamb Picknell exhibition (November 7 - December 7, 1991). She subsequently gathered material on Lamb for a catalogue raissonné that was not published.
