Biographical data; a paper "Aiden Lassell Ripley; American Painter, 1896-1969," by Stephen Cohen, 1972; awards, certificates and medals; correspondence about Ripley's mural for the Lexington Post Office, and with Hallmark Cards, Inc. and Frank L. Harrington of the Paul Revere Life Insurance Co.; Paul Revere project files; research notes for other projects; ca. 200 pencil drawings and 8 annotated sketchbooks; 2 scrapbooks of printed illustrations and photos of portraits; 6 card files containing photos of Ripley's work arranged by subject, exhibition and title of work; exhibition catalogs; magazine clippings, books and pamphlets; and ca. 1000 photos, negatives and slides of works by Ripley and the subjects and scenes depicted in his work.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Donated by the Guild of Boston Artists, 1982, and in 1996 by joint donors Frederic Tilton and Drusilla Movizzo. Tilton received the papers from his cousin, Eleanor M. Tilton, the daughter of Margueritte Verne Tilton who was the sister of Ripley's widow, Doris Verne Ripley.
