65 letters to Rodda from painter Lee Gatch, whom Rodda had met in 1923 when they both attended John Sloan's class at the Maryland Institute, 1923. Gatch writes of his paintings, his studies at the Art Students League, his friend Marian Peters (referred to as Peter), his trip to France from 1924-1925, his brief stay at the MacDowell Colony in 1926, and other topics. Also included are a letter from Howard Hardy, 1927; a copy of an undated letter from Rodda concerning the lack of support for modern art in Baltimore, possibly to the editor of the Baltimore Sun; three unidentified sketches, possibly by Gatch; and clippings and exhibition catalogs regarding Gatch, 1943-1974.

Donated in 1992 by Annabelle C. Kellogg for Emma P. Rodda. Emma Rodda is the widow of Lawrence C. Rodda; Kellogg is her niece.
