An interview of Maurice Roth conducted 1984 September 15, by Ruth Howard Cloudman, for the Archives of American Art's Mark Rothko and His Times Oral History Project.
Scope and Contents
Roth speaks of his parents and the family's background in Russia. He recounts the circumstances of their emigration to the United States and Mark's growing up in Portland, Or. He tries to remember the family's reaction to Mark's art.
