Hélène Sardeau (1899-1969) was a sculptor in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and France. Sardeau was married to muralist George Biddle, the administrator of the Public Works of Art Project.

Existence and Location of Copies
The collection is available on 35mm microfilm reels 1000 and 1050 at Archives of American Art offices and through interlibrary loan. Researchers should note that the arrangement of the material described in the container inventory does not reflect the arrangement of the collection on microfilm.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Donated in 1970 by George Biddle, Sardeau's husband.
Processing Information
The papers were microfilmed after receipt on reels 1000 and 1050. The collection was processed, and a finding aid prepared by Jayna Josefson in 2022 with support from the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative.
