Roger Selchow (1911-1994) was an illustrator, painter and sculptor in New York. After WWII, Selchow absorbed the influences of European Modernism, especially the Bauhaus, Constructivism, and Cubism in his art. Beginning in 1949, he worked in colorful abstractions, and later build "electro Sculptures" of found objects and electrical parts.

This collection was donated by art historian Christine I. Oaklander in honor of William I. Homer, art historian and professor at the University of Delaware. Oaklander purchased the drawings at an art fair.
