Existence and Location of Originals
Location of original unknown.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Donated 1997 by and dealer Ira Spanierman, owner of the Spanierman Gallery, New York City, and Lisa N. Peters, the gallery's Director of Research. Peters made a copy of the guestbook in 1987 when she visited Polling. At the time it was in the possession of Herr Siegfried Loeck of Munich, who allowed her to make a copy. Loeck died sometime before 1994 and attempts by Peters to locate descendants or determine the location of the original guestbook have been unsuccessful.
