Letters from Thompson to "Edie," his sister-in-law, Edith Simonds (Moore), regarding art work and techniques. The 1925 letter is written from Lachow, China while on an expedition with the Fogg Art Museum. Thompson describes a painting technique for wook-block he saw used which he recommends instead of printers' ink. In his Jan. 13, 1926 letter from Cambridge, he details techniques for fresco painting, gives a poor recommendation for the frescoe teaching techniques taught at the Fontainebleau School, and discusses his class at Harvard. In the final letter, Thompson recommends a varnishing technique using Krylon.
