Photographs taken by Janet Stanley in 1981 during her travels through Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar and the Seychelles.
Janet Stanley, Chief librarian, National Museum of African Art Library, Smithsonian Institution Libraries, Washington, DC (1979-date). Since 1990 she has been a contributor on African art terminology to the Getty Information Institute Integrated Vocabulary Program and, since 1984, a consultant on African art terminology, Art & Architecture Thesaurus Program, J.Paul Getty Trust. She received a B.A. in International Relations from the School of International Service, American University (1968) and a M.S.L.S. from The Catholic University of America (1970).
