Wellington Hoyt (Bill) Cleaver, b. 1913, in Roaring Creek, Pennsylvania, d. 1992, was stationed on the Gold Goast of West Africa as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Assigned to the 556th (MAROC), Tech Sergeant Cleaver repaired and ferried aircraft to various site in Africa. He had a passion for taking pictures and pursued his hobby during this time. After his discharge he became a beauty supply salesperson and an uphosterer.
