Herbert M. Cole, art historian, received a B.A. from Williams College, 1957 and, from Columbia University, a M.A. in 1964 and a Ph.D. in 1968. In 1973, Dr. Cole conducted five months of field research in Kenya on jewelry and personal decoration. Several of Dr. Cole's published articles draw upon his observations and experiences during this time.
