Scope and Contents
Photographs created to document the Sanso Collection, a private growing collection of Japanese paintings acquired since the late 1950s by collectors and co-trustees Doris and Peter F. Drucker. The works, dating from the 14th to the 19th century, include masterworks from the Kamakura period, Suiboku paintings of the Muromachi and Momoyama periods. Zenga paintings from the Edo period, and paintings by masters of the nanga or literati school. Each photograph is captioned with artist, date, description, medium, mount format, dimensions, and an assigned number.

Peter Ferdinand Drucker, 1909 - , author, management consultant, and educator; economist at the London Banking House (1933-1937); an American advisor to British banks (1937-1942); a consultant to major American business (1940 - ); a professor of philosophy and politics at Bennington College (1942-1949); a professor of management at New York University (1950-1972); and a lecturer at the Department of Art at Pomona College in California (1979-1985). Additionally and author of management textbooks; producer of film series; and recipient of numerous awards and honorary degrees.
