Footage shot of a Works Progress Administration supported excavation in the, now, Spiro Mounds State Park. Excavations documented center around the Craig Mound and its "Great Mortuary." Film records recently exposed human burials focusing on platform burial remains. Good detail is given to the designs found on shell fragments as well as certain burials. Also recorded are ear flares, pot sherds, beads, projectile points, and carved shell artifacts.

As an historical document, its contents may be at odds with contemporary views and terminology and considered offensive today.
