John Moyer was a Consul of the United States to India. In addition he was a staff member of the Field Museum of Natural History and member of the Adventurer's Club. He authored the following books: "Trophy heads", "Famous Indian Chiefs", "Famous Frontiersmen"; as well as numerous articles.
