Edited video created by the Smithsonian Institution Office of Telecommunications from film footage shot by Scott Williams in collaboration with the Smithsonian's National Human Studies Film Center for a National Museum of Natural History exhibit on Micronesia, ca. 1988. Video shows the relationship of Micronesians to the sea (boys playing with toy boats, practicing spearing fish, various forms of fishing, launching a new boat). Film was shot on the atoll of Yap in the Western Caroline Islands.

As an historical document, its contents may be at odds with contemporary views and terminology and considered offensive today.
