These records consist of correspondence between AFA members, reports on meetings and projects, budget reports, committee reports, lists of officers and members, conference abstracts and papers, award submissions and applications, surveys, and photographs.

The Association for Feminist Anthropology (AFA) is a section of the American Anthropological Association (AAA). It was formed in 1988 to sponsor and coordinate panels presented at AAA meetings and support a variety of efforts within the AAA to promote equity, inclusiveness, and human rights. The following working commissions were established and form the central interests of the association: Women's Body Control (later renamed Women's Reproductive Rights and Bodily Autonomy); Women and Human Rights; and Gender and the Curriculum. Voices is the official journal of the association and is published annually.
