The papers contain field notes on Flambeau language and religion, including documentation of a Drum Dance, War Dance, Medicine initiation, and Native American Church ceremonies with participant interviews; interviews with anthropology field workers; and three essays.

Biographical Note
Stephen T. Boggs is a cultural anthropologist who began his anthropological studies at the London School of Economics in 1947. He carried out doctoral work at Washington University and conducted fieldwork among Ojibwa communities in Wisconsin and Manitoba. He was faculty at the University of Hawaii, and served as Executive Secretary of the American Anthropological Association from 1961-1966.
