Described by Mary Hass, 1963 ("Shasta and Proto-Hokan Language," Language, Volume 39, Number 1, f tnt. page 43) as follows: "BAE MS No. 1452, a Powell schedule containing vocabulary items of Yuki and Achumawi [not Wintun], collected c. 1844"Incorrectly included in Pitkin's Wintun Bibliography (IJAL, 28: 1, 1862, item 16) even though the information we sent to Berkeley ca. 1960 (on which he drew as a source) stated that 1452 was a Yuki vocabulary, said to include Wintun and Maidu terms, but with no terms in it specifically labled Wintun or Maidu.

In Schedule of John Wesley Powell's Introduction to the Study of Indian Languages, partly filled. Terms from Maidu tribe occur from place to place. Nothing in Schedule specifically labled Wintun or Maidu- MCB 1955. Loose sheets, tribe not given: Names of women, 4 pages, and Myth- Hazel bush widow, 16 pages. On preliminary page [ii] are Nosa [Yana] chief's names- 1 page.
