This collection is composed of a diary (287 typed pages) kept by Dr. Jackson M. Mills, a medical doctor who traveled with the Peary Relief Expedition in 1892. Also present are a photograph of Mills and a typed 3-page Eskimo dictionary.

Biographical / Historical
The Peary Relief Expedition was financed by the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences in 1892 to search for the presumed-missing Arctic explorer Robert Peary and crew, who had departed for Greenland in 1891. Mills traveled with the Relief Expedition as the ship's surgeon.
