Local Note
Local Note
The typescript stories are permanently fastened together and were found separately in catalog [former Number 1694], with no reference to the corresponding autograph document by Gatschet. According to an autograph note by J.N.B. Hewitt on the title page of the typescript document, the stories were recorded by Gatschet and translated by J.P. Dunn. Since it appears that Hewitt was unaware of the autograph document by Gatschet, this may not be correct, but can be checked in the course of reviewing Dunn's Peoria and Miami Manuscripts.
