Local Note
A neater version or copy with the same date, and consisting of 126 pages is reported by Barbara Lane (June, 1971) to be in the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress, in the Gen. George B. McClellan papers, volume 5, pages 1070-1195.
Local Note
See Pacific Railroad Reports, volume 1, 1854, page 402 ff. for printed version. The censuses and treaty estimates may not be in either the printed or the other manuscript versions; this has not been checked. Vern Ray notes (October 1957) that 'h' and 'k' are frequently incorrectly transcribed in the native names.
