Mr. MacPherson states that the original report was presented in June, 1936, to the Assistant Director of the Park Service, Washington, D.C. Later in the year a second report was issued, and copies sent to Rep. Zebulon Weaver (N.C.), and M.W. Stirling. The manuscript was revised in 1937, mailed to Mr. Arno Cammerer, Director, National Park Service, by Mr. Stirling together with his note and commentary, and that no trace of the manuscript has been found to date. The present treatise Mr. MacPherson has tried to present from memory, in part, subject matter unearthed during this initial park survey, which was contained in the original reports.
