Local Note
These volumes are listed in Pilling, Bureau of American Ethnology, Bulletin 1, 1887, page 94 as part of a Manuscript folio that he calls "[Contributions to the Natural History of North America. Report on observations made in Ungava and Labrador in 1882-1884 by L.M. Turner.]" Bureau of American Ethnology Manuscripts 2505-b and 2505-c also form part of this report, and there is an additional volume, with pages numbered 1842-2127 (listed in Pilling as "Ethnology of the Innuit,") which had not been located in 6/63. Volumes I-III have not been titled by Turner, but the covers are marked in his handwriting with Roman Numerals as follows: (Volume I) XXII, part of XVIII; (Volume II) part of XVIII, XIX, XX; (Volume III) XXI, XXII. These numerals do not seem to be related to the pagination, and possibly refer to the state before binding.
