Received 1918, original source unknown. Marked in J. N. B. Hewittʹs hand, "Cherokee Letters, 1918, from Miss Poast," Miss Poast being secretary to the Chief of the Bureau at that time. Presumably the official records of the Cherokee Commissioners are in the National Archives.
