The manuscript relates the history of events in the 11th century dealing with the Lords of Tututepec. It was used as proof of ownership in a land dispute, and apparently at this time various figures were erased from the manuscript. (See historical note attached to tracings).

They can be compared, however, to a facsimile edition of the Colombino published by the Sociedad Mexicano de Antropologia, Mexico, 1966.
